Dr. MURALI RAMANATHAN
|
Dr. Ramanathan is an Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University at Buffalo (UB), State
University of New York. He received his BTech (Honors) in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of
Technology, India (1983). After a four year stint in the chemical industry, he obtained a MS in Chemical
Engineering from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa (1987) and a PhD in Bioengineering from the University of
California-San Francisco and University of California-Berkeley Joint Program in Bioengineering (1994). His
PK/PD modeling interests and capabilities include the development of computational and visualization methods
to assess drug and disease effects on gene expression, the molecular mechanisms of disease and treatment
effects in Multiple Sclerosis and other demylenating diseases, mathematical models for pharmacogenomic signal
transduction processes and immuno-modulatory protein methods, and stochastic processes and models to
understand the dynamic relationships of sequences of random events applied to disease processes and
pharmaceutical interventions.
