Resources for Computation and Visualization

Computation and visualization play a key role in the educational and research activities of The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the UB School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The department, school, and university have invested extensively in computational and visualization resources.

Courses offered by the Department provide a heavy concentration in quantitative disciplines, including Physical Pharamceutical Sciences, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, Pharmacogenetics and Pharmacogenomics. Specialized software holdings not only support research and education in PK/PD/PG, but also in molecular computation and visualization.

Basic skills training also is offered in computation related to the practice of Pharmacy. In terms of research, both undergraduate and graduate students receive hands-on research training by participating in externally-funded research projects. Analysis of data and presentation of research findings are a mainstay of this research training.
